Team UAE drivers are primed and ready to take on the best karters in this weekend's Rotax MAX Challenge (RMC) Grand Finals which take place at the Kartodromo Internacional Algarve in Portimão from November 19 - 26.
2021-2022 UAE RMC Champions and standout performers of the past season make up the seven-strong team of drivers traveling to Portimao for the Grand Finals to represent the country, they are:
Of the abovementioned drivers, Bobreshov impressed in the Micro class all season long as did Elhommossany in the Mini category and Parmeggiani in the Juniors, the trio make up the promising contingent of young drivers in the team, with Kekati, Kumaran, Cherian, and Hogg making up the senior element, most with experience in such finals and targeting a top result this weekend.
But they face a tough task, as also in Portugal for the exact same reasons are Champions from 60 countries, a total of 396 drivers, with one thing in mind: winning their class and bagging one of the most prestigious titles in international karting.
Ahead of the journey, Al Ain Raceway and Team UAE Manager, Guy Sheffield, commented: "It is always a great experience to contest the RMC Grand Finals, a reward for drivers who excel in their respective countries to get together and establish who is the very best of the best in Rotax karting.

"This year's team is packed with experienced campaigners as well as promising young drivers which means we travel to Portugal confident of a good showing, knowing the challenges that are in store, with the first goal to make it through the Heat Races which begin on Wednesday (23 November) and into Saturday's (26 November) final at the Kartodromo.

The RMC Grand Finals returns to Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (previously 2012, 2015 & 2017) and thus the fourth occasion of the prestigious event at the venue, whose adjoining track - Autodromo Internacional do Algarve - has hosted Formula 1 races in the recent past.

RMC organsiers, wrote in the preview of the 2022 Edition of the Grand Finals: "The ‘best of the best’ in each of the Rotax classes will ensure the race action will be sensational as ever once the competition gets underway mid-week, following the initial practice sessions.
"Eight categories are on the program in 2022 – with the introduction of the Rotax Project E20 Junior E-Kart class, boosting the numbers to bring a younger generation of racers closer to a sustainable future.
"This will be the biggest Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals to date in the 23-year history of this amazing karting event, which is uniquely like no other championship in this sport."
This year's Chassis' Partners for the finals, who supply drivers with new karts for the occasion, are: BirelART (Rotax Micro MAX & Rotax DD2), IPKarting (Rotax Mini MAX and Rotax DD2 Masters) and Sodikart (Rotax Junior MAX, Rotax Senior MAX, Rotax E20 Junior & Rotax E20 Senior).
