STEP 2: SIGNING ON
Signing On
Signing on is important because it allows the Organisation team to know that you’re present and it also gives you a final opportunity to double check if your racing information is correct.
Signing on takes place first thing at the start of the race day and the process is normally done at the tracks reception area. When you are there, you will need to hand over your racing licence which must be collected at the end of the meeting. Failing to bring your licence may result in the Chief official denying your entry so make sure you keep it safe!
After handing your licence over, you must check and make sure that the below information is correct:
- Transponder number (bringing the transponder it self is a strong suggestion)
- Race Class
- Racing Number
- Licence Number
- Read and understand the waiver form.
Once you are satisfied that this information is all correct, you will be ready to sign. (under 18year old will need a parent or Guardian to countersign.
Finally, you will be given a Scrutineering card and New Kart Stickers (for New drivers) then you can head onto the next step!

SCRUTINEERING
After you sign on, take your kart which must be on a kart trolley to the Scrutineering area along with the Scrutineering Card which must be filled out in advance and handed to the Chief Scrutineer on arrival.
Scrutineering areas differ for each circuit so if you are unsure, please ask reception when signing on or check the Supplementary Regulations in advance.
1. The Scrutineer will check that your kart is in line with the UAE RMC Technical Regulations for legality and also for safety. If something is not correct you will be told about it and asked to go away and fix it before returning to have it rechecked.
2. Engine Passport – This is just as important as your Helmet because without your engine passport, the chief official could refuse to let you race.
3. Race Gear - Your, Helmet, Boots, Gloves and Suit will be checked for any considerable damage or holes. If the Scrutineer deems that item is ‘unsafe’, you will have to find a replacement before going back and getting it re-checked. Please note that all safety equipment must be in line with in the Sporting Regulations.
4.Tyres – All 4 tyres will be checked to make sure that the right type and race number is correct & facing the correct direction.
5. Transponder – The Scrutineer will ask to see your transponder to check that the number information is correct.
6. Fire Extinguisher – Everyone MUST have their own fire extinguisher, This needs to be shown to the Scrutineer and kept with your Kart for the duration of the race day.
Once the above has been checked and your kart passes Scrutineering, it will have a sticker put on it and that sticker must remain on for the whole day.
Next step….. Official Practice!
STEP 4: OFFICIAL UAE RMC TESTING
OFFICAL TESTING
Testing enables you to perform last minute checks on the kart and also allows drivers to get familiarised with the circuit layout and track conditions which can give you that extra-edge before the official race.
Official testing takes place the day before each race meeting. This is always on a Thursday.
Official testing times will be announced prior to the Race Meeting Weekend. Please speak to the Organising Team ahead of time for more clarification.
NOTE: Drivers who attend the Official Practice day MUST complete the Race Day Signing On & Scrutineering before the 1st practice session.
STEP 5: RACE DAY TYRE COLLECTION
RACE DAY TYRE COLLECTION
After you have pre-ordered your tyres when entering for the upcoming race meeting, the organisers (Al Ain Raceway) will mark them and keep them in a secured area ready for the race day, Reasons for doing this is to stop anyone treating their tyres which could result in them gaining an unfair advantage, so to keep anything as-fair-as-possible, this rule has been put into place.
The Tyre Collection point differs for each track so make sure that you check the Supplementary Regulations for each round in order to see where the collection point will be.
When collecting your tyres, it is your responsibility to check and re-check that each tyre is marked clearly and correctly display your race number before taking them to your kart.
STEP 6: RACE DAY BRIEFING
RACE DAY BRIEFING
All drivers taking part in the Race(regardless of experience) must attend an initial safety briefing. Additional Entrants, Parents or Guardian MUST also attend.
